Echo Station is the dream child of Lori, Brian, and our faithful dog, Echo — the one in the ruff collar, watching over the room from the brick wall.

Why a pour-your-own taproom in Greeneville.

We wanted a place in Greeneville where you could pour your own pint, find a game you hadn't played since you were 12, and stay long enough that the evening got away from you. Somewhere you could bring the kids early and catch a comic later. Somewhere the dog was as welcome as you were.

The old steel building on Austin Street.

So we took an old steel building on Austin Street — across from the building supply, in the least glamorous corner of town — and filled it with warm light, salvaged brick, stained glass, 300 board games, and 40 taps. Friends painted the mural on the outside. The neon came a piece at a time.

Come. Sit. Stay. It started as a joke about the dog. It turned out to be the whole idea.
